Lending

"IF THOU LEND MONEY TO ANY OF MY PEOPLE THAT IS POOR by thee, {compared to what you have financially}, THOU SHALT NOT BE TO HIM AS AN USURER, {like a bank or a traditional loan that charges interest} NEITHER SHALT THOU LAY UPON HIM USURY." {interest}. --- [Exodus 22: 25 - Bible]

{Understand here that the Book of Exodus refers to The Law of Moses, aka The Preparatory Gospel. Moses had the Melchizedek Priesthood AND The Gospel of Jesus Christ: the higher laws. But the people of Moses were a slothful and disobedient people. Rather than cast them off or even destroy them, The Lord in his mercy and patience (for notwithstanding they were slothful and disobedient, they WERE the Covenant People!), The Lord took the Melchizedek Priesthood and the HIGHER LAWS of The Gospel of Jesus Christ from among them, and gave them LESSER LAWS to live by, called, The Law of Moses.}

{The HIGHER LAW, The Gospel, teaches you to give freely as much as you can to the poor and the needy. But people who are selfish are not willing to give something free! Furthermore, selfish people want to make a profit. In the case of a loan, they want to charge INTEREST to make money from the loan. Even with the poorest of the poor, such as homeless people, slothful, disobedient, selfish people, including some banks and loan institutions, are as the people of Moses: they are not concerned about helping the poor and the needy but more concerned with 'What's in it for me?' 'Why loan if I don't get anything from it?' Therefore The Lord in His wisdom, rather than tell the gainful people of Moses to just give money to the poor, or insist that they live The Law of Consecration with "NO POOR AMONG THEM" and "ALL THINGS COMMON", (see Acts 4: 32-35 and Acts 2: 44-45) The Lord taught them a lesser law:}

"IF THOU LEND MONEY TO ANY OF MY PEOPLE THAT IS POOR

"Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; BUT UNTO THY BROTHER {Of The Church (How many Latter-Day Saints break this Law of Moses commandment! {This is very true. If we have the capacity to lend someone especially the poor, we ought to do it. If the poor brother does not pay back because of his poverty or lack of means, The Lord in his great mercy if we have need of repayment, has the capacity to repay us. Never fret over repayment.}

{He, God, who not only has given us life, and breath, and will help in} "YOUR TRIALS, YOUR TROUBLES, AND YOUR AFFLICTIONS" --- [Alma 38: 5 - The Book of Mormon] {oftentimes LENDING you such things before you have earned them or paid Him back for them, how can He do this and you yourself not feel shame if you are not willing to help the poor and the needy as much as you can? Who really loves and obeys The Lord unless that man or woman loves to lend and to give as much as he or she can to those who need but have not?}
