SCRIPTORIAN COMPILER'S PREFIX AND COMMENTS (just my opinion):
{ There's not much to support divorce! It is plainly AGAINST THE LAW OF GOD. But I really believe the scriptures that state you commit adultery when you divorce pertain to ETERNAL MARRIAGE, TEMPLE MARRIAGE - and not to temporal law-of-the-land marriage. With temporal marriage, since that is the law-of-the-land marriage (which God is not so concerned about), and the law of the land condones DIVORCE, divorce is therefore just as justified as the marriage is. Wherein with ETERNAL MARRIAGE, TEMPLE MARRIAGE, which is just about the most important ordinance there is, to deal treacherously against your wife or husband and divorce her or him rocks the boat so vehemently that the two of you might lose your exaltation and eternal life! DIVORCE IS NOT CONDONED IN THE MARRIAGE THAT GOD AUTHORIZES! ETERNAL MARRIAGE, TEMPLE MARRIAGE, is, FOREVER MARRIAGE! THIS ETERNAL MARRIAGE COVENANT is not meant to be taken lightly. To do so, makes you a liar and a thief. IT IS A FOREVER COVENANT THAT IS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE BROKEN! SO TO BREAK IT, TO DIVORCE YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE WHOM YOU WERE SEALED TO IN THE TEMPLE, AND TO MARRY ANOTHER---IS COMMITTING ADULTERY AGAINST YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE WHOM YOU ARE MARRIED FOR ETERNITY TO! Since the marriage covenant that The Catholics make is only for this earth, and their marriage will end at death anyway --- it isn't so essential that that couple stays together just for this life. I'm not saying that they should divorce, that their till-death-do-us-part marriage isn't important; I'm just saying when God made His NO DIVORCE CLAUSE, before the world was, He didn't have the Catholic marriages in mind. Nor did He have the Baptist marriages in mind. Or the Lutheran marriages. He didn't have any marriage in a false church or religion in mind. God only had HIS TEMPLE MARRIAGE COVENANT IN MIND! This does not mean that you should serially marry and divorce, marry and divorce, marry and divorce. But what the country of The Philippines do for example, of not allowing divorce, comes from a lack of understanding of the true meaning of the doctrines of Jesus Christ, and is WRONG! People do make mistakes in marrying the wrong person for them, and especially when your partner does not want to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and you do. A person should not be forced to stay in a bad marriage. Does this also apply to Temple Marriage. Of course! Nonetheless, it is Heavenly Father's commandment, and one of the most important of all of His commandments, so, if you are eternally married, ACCORDING TO the LAW OF GOD, YOU COVENANTED TO STAY WITH THAT TEMPLE SEALING, TO ETERNALLY REMAIN SEALED TO YOUR PARTNER! According to the Law of God, you are BOUND TO THE MARRIAGE WHETHER IT IS GOOD OR BAD. If you are a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ, which in these latter-days is called, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, it is not your place to try to dissolve that Holy Temple Ordinance and Sealing that you sealed you as a husband and wife in the sight of God. It is not your place to try to Divorce the man or the woman you were eternally sealed to. Your Temple Marriage is not just a law-of-the-and marriage. It is an ETERNAL MARRIAGE COVENANT that you made! Not to be taken lightly! It is the most important "COVENANT" you can make in this life! And you made it with that man or that woman whom you now are having problems with. Nonetheless, no matter how many problems you may find with him or her, your place is to try to make the marriage work, (and again we are not speaking about Temporal Marriage here but about ETERNAL SEALINGS done in a true temple of The Lord; your job is to try to make you and your spouse a more faithful and more committed son and daughter joined unto Heavenly Father. If your spouse is the major problem, such as he or she commits adultery on you, or does not want to go to Church or be spiritual, or fights against you going to Church or paying tithing or being spiritual in any way, but you yourself do remain faithful and obedient to The Lord and to His Church and to His Gospel, and also remain faithful and committed to your Temple Sealing, then chances are that someday The Lord Himself might DISSOLVE your temple sealing, might DIVORCE you from your unrighteous husband or wife and when The Lord does this He probably will give you to another who is more faithful - even as The Lord gave David's wives to another (which we will read about below). But it is not your job to do that TEMPLE DIVORCING yourself! Put your plight into The Lord's hands. }

{ It is so important to realize here, in Matthew 5: 31-32, that The Lord was NOT referring to Catholic Marriage (The Catholic Church didn't even exist when He said this!) (What existed was HIS CHURCH, The Church of Jesus Christ, and this was in reference to HIS MARRIAGE --- TEMPLE MARRIAGE --- marriages sealed in the temples of the Lord.) }

But The Lord} "SUITING HIS MERCIES ACCORDING TO THE CONDITIONS OF THE CHILDREN OF MEN" --- [D&C 45: 15] {downgraded His Higher Gospel to a Lower Gospel, calling it, The Law of Moses, and this PREPARATORY GOSPEL, called The Law of Moses, created a new Priesthood by which it operated under, called, The Aaronic Priesthood. Not only did The Aaronic Priesthood and The Law of Moses not have Temple Marriage included in it, but because the marriages performed under The Aaronic Priesthood and The Law of Moses were TEMPORAL MARRIAGES, - Till Death Do You Part - The Lord also granted the people of Moses a Bill of Divorce:}
