A Famine of
Hearing The Words Of The Lord ---
ow we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
hat ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that THE DAY OF CHRIST is at hand.
et no man deceive you by any means: FOR THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST,
and that man of sin be REVEALED
, the son of perdition;
FOR THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, REVEALED REVEALED
4 Who OPPOSETH AND EXALTETH HIMSELF ABOVE ALL THAT IS CALLED GOD
, OR THAT IS WORSHIPPED;
and that man of sin took control!
so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
emember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
nd now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
or the mystery of iniquity doth already work:
only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
nd then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, AND SHALL DESTROY WITH THE BRIGHTNESS OF HIS COMING:
"The BRIGHTNESS OF HIS COMING" refers to The First Vision,
(see scripture set THE REFRESHING
to learn of this!)}
ven him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
nd with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 AND FOR THIS CAUSE GOD SHALL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION, THAT THEY SHOULD BELIEVE A LIE:
STRONG DELUSION / LIE
hat they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." --- [2nd Thessalonians 2: 1-12 - Bible]
is a person who believes not the truth, and has pleasure in unrighteousness!
ehold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I WILL SEND A FAMINE IN THE LAND, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but OF HEARING THE WORDS OF THE LORD;
nd they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, THEY SHALL RUN TO AND FRO TO SEEK THE WORD OF THE LORD, AND SHALL NOT FIND IT.
" --- [Amos 8: 11-12 - Bible]
or behold, the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, DOTH TAKE AWAY
from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, THE WHOLE STAY OF BREAD, AND THE WHOLE STAY OF WATER
--- [Isaiah 3: 1 - Bible]
"33 FOR THE BREAD OF GOD IS HE WHICH COMETH DOWN FROM HEAVEN, AND GIVETH LIFE UNTO THE WORLD.
hen said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 AND JESUS SAID UNTO THEM, I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE: HE THAT COMETH TO ME SHALL NEVER HUNGER; AND HE THAT BELIEVETH ON ME SHALL NEVER THIRST.
--- [John 6: 33-35 - Bible]
hen saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
esus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest THE GIFT OF GOD
, and WHO IT IS
that saith to thee, Give Me to drink;
thou wouldest have asked Him, and He would have given thee LIVING WATER
he woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep; from whence then hast thou that LIVING WATER
rt thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
esus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 BUT WHOSOEVER DRINKETH OF THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM SHALL NEVER THIRST: BUT THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM SHALL BE IN HIM
A WELL OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.
" --- [John 4: 9-14 - Bible]
herefore my people are gone into captivity, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE: AND THEIR HONORABLE MEN ARE FAMISHED,
AND THEIR MULTITUDE DRIED UP WITH THIRST. THEREFORE HELL HATH ENLARGED HERSELF
and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it."
--- [Isaiah 5: 13-14 - Bible]
HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE HELL ENLARGES HERSELF!
"8 IT SHALL EVEN BE AS WHEN AN HUNGRY MAN DREAMETH,
and behold, he eateth; BUT HE AWAKETH, AND HIS SOUL IS EMPTY; OR AS WHEN A THIRSTY MAN DREAMETH, and, behold he drinketh; BUT HE AWAKETH, AND BEHOLD,
HE IS FAINT, AND HIS SOUL HATH APPETITE;
so shall the multitude be of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion.
tay yourselves and wonder; cry ye out and cry; they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
10 FOR THE LORD HATH POURED OUT UPON YOU THE SPIRIT OF DEEP SLEEP, AND HATH CLOSED YOUR EYES:
THE PROPHETS AND YOUR RULERS, THE SEERS HATH HE COVERED.
probably means something like PRIESTHOOD RULERS, PRIESTHOOD AUTHORITY
, such as:
THE PROPHETS AND YOUR (PRIESTHOOD) RULERS, THE SEERS HATH HE COVERED.
THE PROPHETS AND YOUR PRIESTHOOD AUTHORITY, THE SEERS HATH HE COVERED.
11 AND THE VISION OF ALL IS BECOME UNTO YOU AS THE WORDS OF A BOOK THAT IS SEALED
--- [Isaiah 29: 8-11 - Bible]
The A BOOK THAT IS SEALED is
The Book of Mormon, and The Book of Mormon , (The SEALED BOOK),
The Fulness of The Everlasting Gospel
and this is in agreement and harmony with theANOTHER ANGEL prophecy,
HAVING THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL TO PREACH UNTO THEM THAT DWELL ON THE EARTH
was to be delivered by the ANOTHER ANGEL:
"We see not our SIGNS, THERE IS NO MORE ANY PROPHET
: neither is there among us any who knoweth how long."
--- [Psalm 74: 9 - Bible]
SIGNS THERE IS NO MORE ANY PROPHET!
of NO MORE ANY PROPHET THERE IS NO MORE ANY CHURCH!
It's that simple. Whenever and whereever The Church of Jesus Christ is there is always a prophet!*
Always, always, always. For SURELY THE LORD GOD WILL DO NOTHING,
BUT HE REVEALETH HIS SECRET UNTO HIS SERVANTS THE PROPHETS." --- [Amos 3: 7 - Bible]
"11 And he gave SOME APOSTLES AND SOME PROPHETS ...
13 TILL we all come in the UNITY OF THE FAITH
" --- [Ephesians 4: 11 & 13 - Bible]
NO UNITY OF THE FAITH
It simply is not there. Nor can it be when hundreds of churches are all claiming
to be the church of Jesus Christ yet teach different doctrines! UNITY means they would all teach the same thing; but if they were UNIFIED all teaching the same thing, then there would be no need for hundreds of churches
with different names. The reason that there are hundreds of names is because they do not teach the same things! The Catholics teach differently than the Lutherans and the Lutherans teach differently than the Presbyterians,
etc. etc. NO UNITY OF THE FAITH
TILL, which is another way of saying, UNTIL PROPHETS
SIGN (OF APOSTASY):
"11 And he gave SOME APOSTLES AND SOME PROPHETS ...
13 TILL we all come in the UNITY OF THE FAITH
" --- [Ephesians 4: 11 & 13 - Bible]

as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.

And they shall contend one with another; and their priests shall contend one with another.

THE FIRST VISION
ome time in the second year after our removal to Manchester, there was in the place where we lived an unusual excitement on the subject of religion.
It commenced with the Methodists, but soon became general among all the sects in that region of country. Indeed, the whole district of country seemed affected by it, and great multitudes united themselves
to the different religious parties, which created no small stir and division amongst the people, some crying, "Lo, here!" and others, "Lo, there!" Some were contending for the Methodist faith, some for the Presbyterian,
and some for the Baptist.
or, notwithstanding the great love which the converts to these different faiths expressed at the time of their conversion, and the great zeal manifested by the
respective clergy, who were active in getting up and promoting this extraordinary scene of religious feeling, in order to have everybody converted, as they were pleased to call it, let them join what sect they pleased;
yet when the converts began to file off, some to one party and some to another, it was seen that the seemingly good feelings of both the priests and the converts were more pretended than real;
for a scene of great confusion and bad feeling ensued---priest contending against priest, and convert against convert; so that all their good feelings one for another, if they ever had any, were entirely lost
in a strife of words and a contest about opinions.
was at this time in my fifteenth year. My father's family was proselyted to the Presbyterian faith, and four of them joined that church, namely, my mother, Lucy; my brothers Hyrum and Samuel Harrison; and my sister Sophronia.
uring this time of great excitement my mind was called up to serious reflection and great uneasiness; but though my feelings were deep and often poignant,
still I kept myself aloof from all these parties, though I attended their several meetings as often as occasion would permit. In process of time my mind became somewhat partial to the Methodist sect,
and I felt some desire to be united with them; but so great were the confusion and strife among the different denominations, that it was impossible for a person young as I was, and so unacquainted with men and
things, to come to any certain conclusion who was right and who was wrong.
y mind at times was greatly excited, the cry and tumult were so great and incessant. The Presbyterians were most decided against the Baptists and Methodists,
and used all the powers of both reason and sophistry to prove their errors, or, at least, to make the people think they were in error. On the other hand, the Baptists and Methodists in their turn were equally zealous
in endeavoring to establish their own tenets and disprove all others.
n the midst of this war of words and tumult of opinions, I often said to myself: What is to be done? Who of all these parties are right; or, are they all wrong together?
If any one of them be right, which is it, and how shall I know it?
hile I was laboring under the extreme difficulties caused by the contests of these parties of religionists, I was one day reading the Epistle of James,
first chapter and fifth verse, which reads: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
ever did any passage of scripture come with more power to the heart of man than this did at this time to mine. It seemed to enter with great force into every feeling of my heart. I reflected on it again and again, knowing that if any person needed wisdom from God, I did; for how to act I did not know, and unless I could get more wisdom than I then had, I would never know; for the teachers of religion of
THE DIFFERENT SECTS UNDERSTOOD THE SAME PASSAGES OF SCRIPTURE SO DIFFERENTLY AS TO DESTROY ALL CONFIDENCE IN SETTLING THE QUESTION BY AN APPEAL TO THE BIBLE.
t length I came to the conclusion that I must either remain in darkness and confusion, or else I must do as James directs, that is, ask of God.
I at length came to the determination to "ask of God," concluding that if he gave wisdom to them that lacked wisdom, and would give liberally, and not upbraid, I might venture.
o, in accordance with this, my determination to ask of God, I retired to the woods to make the attempt.

5 AND THEY DENY THE POWER OF GOD
, the Holy One of Israel; and they say unto the people: Hearken unto us, and hear ye our precept;
for behold there is no God today, for the Lord and the Redeemer hath done his work, and he hath given his power unto men;
ehold, hearken ye unto my precept; if they shall say there is a miracle wrought by the hand of the Lord, believe it not; for this day he is not a God of miracles; he hath done his work.
ea, and there shall be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us.
nd there shall also be many which shall say: Eat, drink, and be merry; nevertheless, fear God---he will justify in committing a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage of one because of his words,
dig a pit for thy neighbor; there is no harm in this; and do all these things, for tomorrow we die; and if it so be that we are guilty, God will beat us with a few stripes, and at last we shall be saved in the kingdom of God.
ea, and there shall be many which shall teach after this manner, false and vain and foolish doctrines, and shall be puffed up in their hearts, and shall seek deep to hide their counsels from the Lord; and their works
shall be in the dark. --- [2nd Nephi 28: 3-9 - The Book of Mormon]
oe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
16 SURELY YOUR TURNING OF THINGS UPSIDE DOWN
shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it,
He had no understanding?" --- [Isaiah 29: 15-16 - Bible]
nd the blood of the saints shall cry from the ground against them.
11 YEA, THEY HAVE ALL GONE OUT OF THE WAY; THEY HAVE BECOME CORRUPTED.
12 BECAUSE OF PRIDE, AND BECAUSE OF FALSE TEACHERS, AND FALSE DOCTRINE, THEIR CHURCHES HAVE BECOME CORRUPTED,
and their churches are lifted up; because of pride they are puffed up.
hey rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries; they rob the poor because of their fine clothing; and they persecute the meek and the poor in heart, because in their pride they are puffed up.
hey wear stiff necks
and high heads
yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few,
who are the humble followers of Christ
nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances THEY DO ERROR BECAUSE THEY ARE TAUGHT BY THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.
the wise, and the learned, and the rich, that are puffed up in the pride of their hearts, AND ALL THOSE WHO PREACH FALSE DOCTRINES
and all those who preach false doctrines, and all those who commit whoredoms, and pervert the right way of the Lord, wo, wo, wo be unto them, saith the Lord God Almighty, for they shall be thrust down to hell!
o unto them that turn aside the just for a thing of naught and revile against that which is good, and say that it is of no worth! For the day shall come that the Lord God will speedily visit the inhabitants of the earth;
and in that day that they are fully ripe in iniquity they shall perish.
ut behold, if the inhabitants of the earth shall repent of their wickedness and abominations they shall not be destroyed, saith the Lord of Hosts.
ut behold, that great and abominable church, the whore of all the earth, must tumble to the earth, and great must be the fall thereof.
or the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish;
or behold, at that day shall he rage in the hearts of the children of men, and stir them up to anger against that which is good.
nd others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Zion; yea, Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and leadeth them away carefully down to hell.
22 And behold, others he flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell; and he saith unto them: I am no devil, for there is none—and thus he whispereth in their ears, until he grasps them with his awful chains,
from whence there is no deliverance.
ea, they are grasped with death, and hell; and death, and hell, and the devil, and all that have been seized therewith must stand before the throne of God, and be judged according to their works, from whence
they must go into the place prepared for them, even a lake of fire and brimstone, which is endless torment.
herefore, wo be unto him that is at ease in Zion!
o be unto him that crieth: All is well!
26 YEA, WO BE UNTO HIM THAT HEARKENETH UNTO THE PRECEPTS OF MEN, AND DENIETH THE POWER OF GOD, AND THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST!
27 YEA, WO BE UNTO HIM THAT SAITH: WE HAVE RECEIVED, AND WE NEED NO MORE!
28 And in fine, wo unto all those who tremble,
AND ARE ANGRY BECAUSE OF THE TRUTH OF GOD!"

WE HAVE ENOUGH
WE HAVE RECEIVED THE WORD OF GOD, AND WE NEED NO MORE OF THE WORD OF GOD,

WE HAVE ENOUGH
"30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken

11 AND THEY THAT WILL HARDEN THEIR HEARTS, TO THEM IS GIVEN THE LESSER PORTION OF THE WORD UNTIL THEY KNOW NOTHING CONCERNING HIS MYSTERIES;

against them with a mount, and raised forts against them; and after they shall have been brought down low in the dust, even that they are not, yet the words of the righteous shall be written, and the prayers of the faithful
shall be heard, and all those who have dwindled in unbelief shall not be forgotten.
16 For those who shall be destroyed shall speak unto them out of the ground, and their speech shall be low out of the dust, and their voice shall be as one that hath a familiar spirit; for the Lord God will give unto him power,
that he may whisper concerning them, even as it were out of the ground; and their speech shall whisper out of the dust.
